At this intermediate level, dancers build upon their foundational skills with more dynamic and complex combinations. Tap sequences will include simple syncopation and transitions, while jazz elements will focus on smooth leaps, turns, and fluid floor patterns. Emphasis is placed on connecting movements, working as a group, and cultivating stage confidence.

In these classes, young dancers learn basic steps such as ball heels, shuffles, and flaps, which lay the foundation for more complex routines. The focus is on developing timing, musicality, and coordination in a fun, supportive environment. Classes typically include a warm-up, skill-building exercises across the floor, and a combination of steps practiced in the center of the room. Students will be introduced to tap dance technique and terminology as they build their skills in musicality, sound clarity, speed and style. Tappers can expect to learn double and triple time steps, 3&5 beat riffs, turns, and intricate rhythms.

This class is for students who have a good knowledge of all tap dance vocabulary. Students are introduced to more advanced concepts such as musicality, improvisation, more complex
combinations, use of space and choreography. Students gradually develop speed, clarity, and understanding of time and tempo.

Jazz 1 is a beginner-level dance class designed to introduce students to the vibrant world of jazz dance. This course covers fundamental techniques, including basic steps, rhythms, and stylizations that form the foundation of jazz dance. Students will explore movement quality, musicality, and expression, all within a supportive and energetic environment. By the end of the class, participants will have a solid understanding of jazz dance basics, ready to groove with confidence and flair.

Jazz 2 and 3 focus on learning jazz dance terminology and technique while exploring assorted styles including classical jazz, musical theater, jazz funk, and lyrical/contemporary. The class warm-up and progressions will develop musicality, athleticism, alignment, and coordination in students, which supports healthy growth across other dance styles.

Levels 4 and 5 Jazz will give students a thorough grounding in jazz dance terminology and technique while giving them an opportunity to grow as performers. Students will use this technical base to explore a variety of jazz styles, including classical, musical theater, jazz funk and lyrical/contemporary.
